Payment Processing in Paonia, CO
A clean, simple setup for galleries, studios, and tasting rooms, with portable readers for the markets and shows where you also sell.
Paonia sits in the North Fork Valley on Colorado's Western Slope, a town of orchards, organic farms and some of the highest vineyards in North America, working through a long shift away from the coal mines that used to anchor the valley. You get fair rates, no long contracts, and a real person who actually answers when you call.
What we set up for your shop
We provide merchant services for Paonia: credit card processing, POS systems, and the card machines and terminals to run them.
- Take card payments in person with tap, chip, swipe and phone payments, at a tasting room, a Grand Avenue counter or a farm stand.
- Set up registers, card readers, and full POS systems matched to how the wineries, farms, shops and kitchens here actually operate.
- Handle mobile and on-the-go payments for growers and makers selling at markets, festivals and events away from the property.
About Paonia
The North Fork Valley has run on a mix of ranching, coal, orchards and vineyards, and the balance between them has shifted hard. Most of the valley's coal mines have closed, with the West Elk mine the main one still working, and the jobs that went with them have gone. What has grown in their place is agriculture and the trade around it: the ground around Paonia produces peaches, apples, cherries, pears and plums, and the town has built a reputation as something close to the farm-to-table capital of Colorado.
Wine is part of that. Several vineyards and wineries operate here at elevations that put them among the highest in North America, including Alfred Eames, Black Bridge, Stone Cottage Cellars and Azura, and this is one of the few parts of Colorado that has managed to grow and bottle pinot noir. Tasting rooms bring visitors up the valley who would otherwise have no reason to leave the main highway.
Downtown is Grand Avenue, with bars, restaurants, shops, murals and sculpture along it, and the transition is deliberate as well as accidental: the North Fork Valley Creative Coalition took a state Office of Just Transition grant to put a full-time director and a downtown programming space behind the arts side of the economy. For a business here that means a customer base of locals, agricultural buyers and seasonal visitors, and takings that move with the harvest as much as the calendar.
Card processing for galleries, studios and shops
Paonia businesses sell in more than one place. The same orchard or winery might take money at a tasting room, at a farm stand, at a farmers market two valleys over and through a wholesale account, and each of those prices differently. Getting that mix set up properly, and knowing what each channel actually costs, is worth more than shaving a tenth of a point off a headline rate.

We show you real numbers side by side, so you know exactly what you would pay. If we can't beat what you pay now, we'll tell you straight.

Get a Free QuoteQuestions about card processing for makers and shops
- We sell at the tasting room, at markets and wholesale. Does each cost differently?
- Yes, and the differences are worth knowing. A card tapped at your counter is the cheapest, a card keyed in over the phone costs more, and wholesale invoicing is different again. We'll map your actual channels rather than quote one rate for everything.
- Can we take cards at a farmers market or a festival away from the property?
- Yes. Handheld readers on cellular work at a market or an event, print or email a receipt there, and cost less than keying the number in later.
- Are we locked into a multi-year contract if we sign up here in Paonia?
- No. There are no multi-year contracts, so you're never stuck with us. We aim to keep you by earning it.
- How do I know you'll actually save me money over what I pay now?
- We show you real numbers side by side against your current statement. If we can't beat what you pay now, we'll tell you straight rather than waste your time.
Security you don't have to think about
Your customers' card information is always protected. We follow PCI DSS security standards, the same rules the major card companies require, so every payment is handled safely.
