About Jerome
Jerome hangs on the side of Cleopatra Hill at better than five thousand feet, its streets and buildings stacked so steeply up the slope that one block's rooftops sit near the next block's foundations. Founded in 1876, it grew into one of the largest copper camps in the Arizona Territory, home to some fifteen thousand people before the United Verde and its successors wound down and the last mine closed in 1953. The near-abandoned town was later reborn as an artist colony, and the whole of it's now a National Historic Landmark.
What little flat ground there's holds the business district along Main Street, Hull Avenue, and Clark Street, where galleries, antique shops, wine tasting rooms, and restaurants occupy century-old buildings. Fixtures include the Jerome Grand Hotel in the old hospital high above town, historic saloons like Paul and Jerry's on Main Street, and mining-era sites such as the Audrey Headframe and the state historic park.
The town runs on day-trippers and weekenders driving the scenic road between Sedona and Prescott, with monthly draws like the first-Saturday Art and Wine Walk. Space is tight, parking is limited, and revenue is heavily weekend-driven, so the small shops and tasting rooms wedged into these hillside storefronts need payments that just work. We set up payments around how a steep, tiny, tourism-driven hill town actually operates.
Card processing for galleries, studios and shops
Jerome is tiny, but its dramatic setting, galleries, and wineries draw a steady stream of visitors, and nearly all of them pay by card. Whether you run a gallery, a wine tasting room, a shop, a restaurant, or an inn, that visitor trade is the heart of your year. You should not lose part of it to hidden fees or get stuck on hold with a big processor that has never heard of Yavapai County. We keep your costs clear, your setup simple, and your questions answered by someone real.
