Get a Free QuoteWhat switching actually involves
Hilo blends a strong local and university trade with visitors drawn to its waterfalls, gardens, and volcano access, and nearly all of them pay by card. Whether you run a downtown shop, a restaurant, a farm stand, or a tour business, a big share of your sales runs on cards. You should not lose part of it to hidden fees or get stuck on hold with a mainland processor that doesn't know island business. Expect straightforward pricing, an easy setup, and a real person who understands Hawaii on the line.
What we cover
From credit card machines and countertop terminals to full point of sale (POS) systems, we handle payment processing for Hilo businesses of every kind.
- Take card payments: Let your customers pay however they want, tap, chip, swipe, or phone, whether they are a local or a visitor in for the falls. Fast, secure, and priced fairly.
- Registers and card readers: The right setup for your downtown shop, your restaurant, your farm stand, or your tour business.
- Mobile and on the go: Perfect for farms, market vendors, and tour operators who need to take payment anywhere, not just at a counter.
Common questions, answered
- What can I expect to pay to take card payments?
- It depends on your business and your volume, but we're always upfront. We show you exactly what you would pay, no surprise fees.
- Do you make me sign a multi-year deal?
- No. No multi-year deals. We earn your business every month.
- Can you handle busy market days and volcano-season crowds?
- Yes. We set you up with systems that stay fast and reliable through your busiest stretches, with real support when you need it.
- Can you help with Hawaii's rules on card fees and the General Excise Tax?
- Yes. Hawaii's General Excise Tax and its card-surcharge rules change how pricing has to be shown, and we'll set you up so your pricing stays clear, compliant, and honest with your customers.
Serving Hilo and the wider area
Hilo spreads along the shore of its bay on the lush, rainy east side of Hawaii Island, the county seat of Hawaii County and the largest town in the state outside Oahu. Unlike the resort-driven west coast, Hilo is a genuine working town, home to the University of Hawaii at Hilo, county government, macadamia and orchid agriculture, and the support base for the observatories atop Mauna Kea. Its heavy rainfall keeps it among the greenest places in the islands, feeding sights like Rainbow Falls and the Japanese-style Liliuokalani Gardens on the bay.
Historic downtown fronts the bay along Kamehameha Avenue, with Keawe and Waianuenue Streets and the 1925 Palace Theater on Haili Street nearby. Many of the wooden storefronts are on the National Register, and among them are longtime local names like Sig Zane Designs, the mochi makers Two Ladies Kitchen, and Cafe Pesto in the 1912 S. Hata Building, while the daily Hilo Farmers Market anchors the district. Devastating tsunamis in 1946 and 1960 wiped out low-lying blocks, which were rebuilt as bayfront parks, and commercial development shifted inland afterward.
Because so much of Hilo's trade is local and year-round, its rhythms differ from a tourist town, though the calendar still swells enormously for the Merrie Monarch Festival, the world's premier hula competition, the week after Easter. For the family-run shops, restaurants, and market vendors that fill downtown, dependable card processing is simply part of the day. We set up payments around how a real Hawaiian working town actually operates.
Kept secure, every time
Your customers' card information is always protected. We follow PCI DSS security standards, the same rules the major card companies require, so every payment is handled safely.
